Based in Alice Springs the Central Australian Food Group (CAFG) is an association of food enthusiasts amongst whom are growers, producers, retailers, manufacturers, chefs, restauranteurs and other individuals interested in fine food who meet to share ideas and experiences in all facets of the food industry.

 

 

 

  • to increase the profile of Northern Territory food, with an emphasis on Central Australia, including produce, products and restaurants
  • to raise awareness in the community of the availability and culinary uses of local produce and indiginous "wild foods"
  • to promote and develop indiginous foods as an aspect of the culinary experience of Central Australia
  • to be an effective and proactive lobby group to Government on issues effecting the food industry

  • to liaise with tourism organisations to promote food as an integral of the Central Australian visitor experience
